Foods to Avoid When Exercising


No matter if you're trying to lose weight or if you're trying to stay fit and be healthier, exercising is a must. There are certain things you can do to make exercising easier and there are certain things you can do to make it difficult.
One of the worst things you can do when you're exercising is to eat before you go. There are two reasons you want to exercise on an empty stomach. One reason is because the foods you eat can cause an upset stomach and the other reason is you could lose energy after a short amount of time.
There are certain foods that will cause you trouble from the beginning and that's not what you need when you're trying to do a workout. These foods can cause your stomach to toss and turn and that can prevent you from giving your all during any or all of your workout.

It's best to workout on an empty stomach, but if you find you must eat, there are certain voids you want to avoid. Here are a few of those foods you'll want to avoid.

1. Starchy foods like potatoes and pasta can sit heavy on your stomach and that cause you to have no energy when it comes to exercising. When that happens you won't burn as many calories and you will continue to stop throughout the workout because you don't have the energy to keep going.

2. You need to be careful when it comes foods that are high in protein. You may think these foods will give you energy, but that's not true. These foods are lacking the carbs you need to have to keep going throughout the entire workout

3. Foods high in fiber are good to eat on a daily basis, but it's not good to eat them before a workout. Fiber can cause you to have gas and a bloated stomach, both of which will prevent you from having the best workout possible.

4. One last thing you'll want to avoid would be soda pop. Soda contains high amounts of sodium which has the ability to cause your stomach to feel sloshy or worse yet, they can make you feel bloated.
Avoiding these foods and many others will help you to have a better workout. If you must eat something, keep it light and be careful what it is you eat. When you exercise on an empty stomach you'll have a better chance of having a good workout.
